Short poems. Big feelings. Soft toe beans.
Poetry, like a nap, doesn’t have to be long to be perfect.
Tiny Paws Poetry is my collection of haiku—short poems inspired by the daily dramas, quiet revelations, and occasional indignities of feline life. These poems are arranged into series, because while I may be small, my emotions are very organized.
Each series captures a different facet of my world: the joys, the sorrows, the red dots. Here’s what you’ll find among the pawprints:
🐾 Injured Dignity
For those moments that wound the soul and ruffle the fur: the inside-out ear, the uninvited sneeze, the “funny” photo your human took without permission.
🐾 Uncatchable Things
Poems about pursuit—the red dot, the flutter of wings, the idea of satisfaction just beyond the paw. Sometimes the chase is the point.
🐾 Window Watchers
Observations from the windowsill: the moon, the birds, the dog who doesn’t understand boundaries. Quiet poems for thoughtful stares.
🐾 Tiny Chaos
Unapologetic mischief. The sock that fought back. The zoomies. Sudden inexplicable pounces. We do not explain ourselves here.
🐾 Sunbeam Studies
Warmth, light, and long stretches of stillness. These poems live where the sun touches the floor just right.
🐾 Soft Eyes, Sharp Claws
Love is complicated. These are poems about affection, betrayal, trust, and the occasional gentle swipe when someone pets you wrong.
🐾 Elemental Purrspective
Wind, rain, snow, sunshine, humidity, hail, tornadoes. The elements shape the world—and our whiskers. These poems explore the weather, in all its glory and nonsense.
🐾 Mystical Paws
Dragons. Ghost cats. Wild kin with eyes like fire. This series prowls the borderlands between myth and moonlight.
🐾 Exploration
From backyard forests to far-off gardens, these poems are pawprints left behind on trails taken. Wandering is an art form.
🐾 Beyond the Bridge
Gentle words for those we’ve lost. These haiku honor the companions who’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge—and the paw-shaped spaces they leave behind.
All poems in this corner are haiku. Just three lines. Just enough to leave a pawprint on your day.
New collections arrive as inspiration strikes (or indignity demands). Until then, feel free to curl up and read a few. But quietly, please. Poetry naps are in progress.
And now, a few first pawprints…
Because what’s an introduction without a sample of the craft?
Haiku by Tyson the Cat
Measured Purrfection
Whiskers twitch with thought.
Three lines, five-seven-five beats—
My purr is precise.
Midnight Muse
The poem arrives
on silent paws at midnight—
a muse with a tail.
The Look Says It All
No need for long lines.
I can say all with one look—
But haikus are fun.
Purrs and perfectly chosen words,
Tyson 🐾
